A recent upgrade has come to Alexa, making it translate conversations between two people who speak different languages. At release, the digital assistant’s new Live Translation feature works on Echo devices in the US and supports translation between English and Italian, French, German, Hindi, Spanish or Brazilian Portuguese.
For you to begin, just ask Alea to serve as an interpreter for the language that the person you want to talk to speaks. As you go on with your conversation, Alexa will automatically identify the person who’s talking and translate as needed.
This feature is limited to Echo devices in the US simple tells us that it might be a while before you get to check out the live translation in action. Yet, Amazon isn’t the first company to offer a real-time translation feature through its digital assistant.
