Amazon is rolling out it’s latest Alexa Voice Remote for Fire TV devices, reports gotten from AFTVNews. So far we know the new remote looks like its 2020 predecessor, although it comes with four new app buttons.
We’ve never heard of something like this before. For Amazon to include app button on the remote for its Fire TV player means there’s something incredible for us. However, they appear on the remote that ships with the Fire TV Edition television and sound bar.
App Buttons May Differ
How do these buttons work? App buttons gives users access to open app that they correspond to. The app buttons differ according to your location. Take the US for instance, the new controller includes button for Prime Video, Disney +, Netflix, and Hulu. While in Canada and Germany there is a button for Amazon Music. India has one of it’s buttons labelled “Apps.”
Blue Alexa-themed button is now available for you to start voice commands.
Currently Unavailable
We’re not sure if Amazon intends to debut any additional new hardware to come with the new remote control.
It is presently listed on Amazon, although it’s current availability is described as “Currently unavailable. We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.”
