Amazon has been able to win the heart of Donald Glover, taking him from FX with an all-time eight-figure deal that will see him working on a raft of projects for the retailer’s Prime Video service. The deal includes a new show titled Hive, which reportedly features a Beyonce-style figure, with Glover on exec-production duties.
To add to it, Amazon has also struck a deal with his brother and frequent collaborator, Stephen Glover. Donald Glover will also get his own channel on Prime Video.
News of Glover’s high-profile deal comes just days after he announced his upcoming Amazon Studios series Mr. and Mrs. Smith, a new take on the 2005 action-comedy, co-starring Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
He recently starred in a short film for Amazon titled Guava Island.
