Can you change your Snapchat username? Well, it’s a yes. RIP to all the old accounts that prompted us to create a new one all in the name of changing our user name. It is finally amazing to announce to you, that you can now change your awful Snapchat username all by yourself.
After millions of complaints, it looked like no one was answering but to our greatest surprise earlier this week as at the time of writing this article we received an update that Snapchat is working on enabling the feature of allowing to change usernames.
Millions of us, including me, have been waiting years after years for this beautiful moment because we couldn’t just risk losing our old accounts and all achievements on it, it’s like starting life all over again.
Here is exactly how you can change your Snapchat username and get rid of that awful name once and for all.
How to Change My Snapchat Username
Follow these steps below to successfully change your snap chat username, but the thing is this feature isn’t yet available worldwide as now, but if you are in of those countries where this feature isn’t available yet then I have a way you can bypass this and change your username.
This feature seems only available in Australia for now, but here is how to go about it even tho you aren’t in Australia or the locals.
- Firstly download VPN preferably Winscribe VPN
- Set the country to Australia
- Head over to App store or Playstore to update your snap chat, dont forget you are to do this while you have your VPN connected to Australia
- Once the update is done, head over to your profile and click on it
- Click on the little icon by the top right corner of your screen
- Click on username, change it and then press “ok”
But if these steps didn’t work for you, you might need to change your country for your Apple ID, which will then allow you to change your username, follow these steps below to do that now:
- Firstly, click on your Apple store profile
- Then select your own Apple ID
- Go to country and regiion, then select Australia
- Fill in the neccesary categories, then click ok
As it might seem right now, Snapchat hasn’t released any official statement in regards to the update but hopefully, they should do so very soon and definitely allow this feature for all countries which use Snapchat.
