The scholarship will award $75,000 CAD (approximately $60,625 USD) to one student who has achieved exceptional academic performance during his or her degree program.

It can also be renewed for $75,000 CAD (approximately $60,625 USD) for one more year if the recipient remains in good academic standing and wishes to undertake further studies in the field of biology.
This scholarship is open to students from any institution around the world.
What Is The Dalhousie University Scholarship?
The Dalhousie University Merit Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship awarded annually to between 25 and 45 high school graduates who are either entering or continuing at Dalhousie.
The scholarship covers all tuition costs for up to 4 years, provided that certain requirements are met.
All students receiving the Merit Award are also given a laptop computer as part of their $80,000/year scholarship.
In order to be eligible for consideration, applicants must:
- Have an average score of 90% or higher on their final Grade 12 provincial examinations;
- Have achieved an A+ standing in three Grade 12 courses;
- Have obtained a minimum overall average of 85% in six Grade 12 courses including English and mathematics;
- Be Canadian citizens or permanent residents (landed immigrants);
- Plan to enter first year studies at Dalhousie University within one year from your graduation date.
What Are Some Great Qualities Of The Winner?
The winner of The Dalhousie University scholarship would be a student who is focused on their studies and also cares about issues in their local community.
They should have a GPA that is above average and have good interpersonal skills, so they can represent students from their school well at events.
Also, it would be beneficial if they were involved in extracurricular activities such as sports or clubs.
How Can I Enter?
The competition is open to all post-secondary students in Canada and internationally who are eligible for scholarships at their current educational institution.
Applicants must be:
- Canadian citizens or landed immigrants;
- registered as full-time undergraduate students at a Canadian university, college or institute in September 2019 and studying a field of study relevant to financial services; and
- between 16 and 30 years of age.
Who Is Eligible To Enter?
To enter, you must be a citizen of your country and attend a Canadian post-secondary institution for undergraduate studies.
There is no residency requirement. If you meet these requirements, you are eligible to enter regardless of whether or not you have previously attended a post-secondary institution in Canada.
Previous winners of other awards may also apply but are not guaranteed entry into any competition.
Applicants who have been awarded any scholarships from Dalhousie will automatically be disqualified from entering the scholarship competition.
