Einstein Fellowship for outstanding young thinkers 2022/2023
I have no special talents, Albert Einstein once said, I am only passionately curious.
It was that passion that led to his revolutionary theories of relativity and his achievements in science, medicine, and peace that earned him the Nobel Prize in 1921 and eventually worldwide acclaim as one of the greatest minds of the 20th century. Click the link below to apply:

Now, thanks to the generosity of Albert Einstein and his wife Elsa, you too can apply to join this prestigious group of young scientists at all stages of their careers by entering one of seven different graduate or undergraduate categories from anywhere in the world.
The Thought Behind it
The Einstein Fellowships are awarded to outstanding young scholars and scientists worldwide, who demonstrate a high level of accomplishment and potential.
In order to honor Albert Einstein’s memory, we have decided to give away a total of ten awards in an annual competition.
The winners will receive financial support for one year of independent work that is solely funded by us.
We encourage applicants from all over the world, from any country and with different backgrounds, fields or specializations.
Our main criteria are outstanding achievements in science or philosophy before reaching 35 years old as well as exceptional innovative capacity (project ideas).
The awards are open to everybody who is below 35 years old on July 31st 2022. This means you were born before 1993!
What Does the Program Offer?
Eligible candidates may apply for a 4-month residential program at one of Einstein’s international partner universities.
During their stay, fellows can connect with other young researchers in their field and learn from them to advance their own research.
The program provides a monthly stipend that allows fellows to focus on their studies instead of other financial concerns such as housing and food.
Fellows will also have access to library resources and computers available at Einstein as well as use of its science facilities (e.g., particle accelerator).
Is it Competitive?
Einstein Fellowships are highly competitive. Every year, only a select few individuals receive one of these highly coveted awards.
Einstein Fellows undergo a rigorous selection process in which they are selected out of over 25,000 applicants through a two-phase system that utilizes both objective and subjective methods to identify exceptionally creative and bright young minds who will be innovative thought leaders in their fields of expertise.
To date, more than 2,500 young physicists have been supported by Einstein Fellowship awards to conduct independent research projects that have led to revolutionary new discoveries.
Of those awardees, more than 500 have earned faculty positions at U.S. universities at some of our nation’s most prestigious institutions – from Stanford University and Yale University to California Institute of Technology and Harvard University.
How to Apply
Einstein Fellowships are awarded by a selective panel of judges and reviewers, rather than a standard application process.
When reviewing candidates, they look for creativity and originality in concept as well as writing ability.
Some questions you might ask yourself before starting: What is your idea? How will it change society? What can you do to stand out from other applicants?
Write your proposal so that it’s clear what you want to accomplish and why you are qualified. Be passionate, but practical.
And be aware of how others (not just judges) will view your proposal—it might need more explanation or revision than usual since some readers won’t be familiar with its subject matter.
