Facebook is undergoing series on experimental features to select English language pages after using celebrity’s accounts for their main testing. Rolling out among those experimental features is a brand new layout for its mobile apps that puts the main attention on the Page’s name, description, and Follower count.
In comparison between the old and new layouts, the new one looks more like Instagram and Twitter profile pages. It looks more like a social media platform than a website now, Page Transparency, and About page being replaced with Page’s details and Stories the top.
The new Page design completely has nothing to do with the like button and the number of likes you have, users can like a page and then unfollow it later making the numbers of like you get unreliable. The follower count represents the actual number of people getting Pages’ updates on their feed.
It also implies it can display a Page’s reach than the number of Likes can. In addition to a new layout, Facebook is also giving a few Page owners access to new account management features. It is now easier to move between their personal profiles and their public-facing Pages.
Those owners/managers can access new insights as well, including a system displaying the top-performing posts and their Page’s audience overlap with its connected Instagram account. It’s also easier to assign and manage admin access, you might likely see the new layout frequently now that Facebook has made its test broad, but since its an experimental feature, it may never be widely available.
