Over the years, Facebook has been knowing copy and modify features and apps from rival companies. It’s no surprise that they are making a TikTok-like app. To be honest, we all expected it sooner. Zuckerberg has been known to take inspiration from other successful companies.
Our case today is Facebook’s latest app, named “Bars”. Bars allow users to write and record their own raps using already made beats. The app offers different audio and visual effects and can even suggest rhymes while you write, according to TechCrunch. The video can last up to 1 minute and you can save them on your camera roll to share elsewhere.
While Bars is focused on rap, it’s already being compared to TikTok. In addition to the short, music-based video format, the interface is apparently similar to TikTok’s as well.
Facebook’s New Product Experimentation (NPE) team created Bars. Some NPE-created apps are retired, such as the Pinterest-like Hobby. It’s yet to be seen how Bars will fare.
