Messenger Vanish Mode Review
They are some free packages that come with vanish mode that you don’t know about. When this feature is activated, if you or someone else screenshots or scree records the chat, you’ll get a notification and a stamp in the thread. Vanish Mode works with texts, photos, videos, voice messages, emoji, and stickers. You can’t copy, save, or forward any messages sent. Someone you’ve never chatted with before can send you message requests in normal mode but not in Vanish Mode.
How to Turn On Vanish Mode
- First, open a Messenger chat.
- Next, pull up on the thread
- For iOS users, you’ll need to swipe up far enough to fill the circle outline that appears.
- Then let go to enter Vanish Mode.
- On Android, you need to hold until the circle outline fills up, then let go.
Upon activation, a pop-up will describe the feature, including its three core pillars:
- Seen messages disappear once you leave the thread. If you don’t want to lose your messages, just swipe up again or tap “Exit Vanish Mode” at the top of the chat to disable Vanish Mode.
- If someone screenshots the chat, you’ll receive a notification.
- If someone reports the conversation, otherwise ephemeral messages will remain for up to one hour.
When you enable or disable Vanish Mode, it only does so on your end. It’s only once you send a message, photo, video, or other content in the chat that your recipient will see their chat switch to Vanish Mode.
