A newly released Facebook app “Collab”, allows users to do joint music videos. The app is now available to all iOS uses in the US. Collad was initially available to beta testers in the US and Canada and was under experiment from the NPE Team, Facebook’s R&D division.
You can export videos through the iOS share sheet, post clips, which include a watermark. This app is way better than Instagram Story or TikTok. How it works, you can explore a feed of collaborations, which is made of three videos that are layered on top of each other and play simultaneously.
Each looped clips last for just 15 seconds and you can swap in different videos on each layer, and Collab targets to keep them playing in sync. If you stumble upon a musician whose work you enjoy, you can make them you’re favorite and set notifications for any of their latest videos. You also have the chance to upload your own videos.
Collab is focused on music, which makes it different from TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Snapchat Spotlight. It is more like Soundtrap, which allows musicians to layer their parts together.
