Free VPN Application for Android
More than 400 million people worldwide use VPN apps to surf the web securely and anonymously from their phones and tablets, but only a small fraction of them know that Android has more than 100 free VPN applications available in Google Play Store.
These applications allow you to surf the web without having to worry about your privacy and security while doing so. It’s important to note that not all free VPN apps are trustworthy, so you have to make sure that your choice of VPN service is reliable before using it in order to benefit from the added protection of anonymity it provides you.
IPVanish
Offers servers in 60+ countries, and works on both mobile phones and computers. If you want to use your VPN on multiple devices at once, IPVanish is a good option.
The only drawback is its monthly plan is a bit pricey compared to some of its competitors. But if you’re already paying for a more expensive plan with another service like ExpressVPN, it may be well worth your money to go with IPVanish.
The customer service is also very fast and helpful, which is nice if you need help troubleshooting or have a question about anything. It’s one of the top VPNs we’ve tried, and it deserves its good reputation.
TunnelBear
The free version of TunnelBear’s app allows you to use 500MB per month. That should be enough to check your email and browse a few websites while on a coffee break, but it might not be quite enough if you’re looking to stream music or download large files.
Luckily, there are paid options available that offer more data. In addition to giving you an unlimited amount of data for your regular browsing habits, these options also allow you to use your smartphone as a mobile hotspot, access certain social networks and messaging apps through their servers (which can give you an edge when trying to get past censored filters) and run certain high-bandwidth apps that require more network bandwidth than normal.
However, many of these apps aren’t available worldwide. If you’re traveling to a country where a specific app is blocked, your best bet may be to turn off your mobile data connection and use Wi-Fi.
Many people already travel with an unlocked smartphone that they can easily pop in local SIM cards while abroad, so take advantage of that if it makes sense for you.
CyberGhost
With CyberGhost, you can keep your Internet traffic encrypted and secure from hackers at home or abroad. It is one of many virtual private network (VPN) services that help protect your online privacy.
You can unblock streaming sites and other geo-restricted content if you are traveling or living abroad, but anyone with a Wi-Fi connection can use CyberGhost’s servers to anonymize their browsing activities when they are at home.
This means that if someone asks for your username and password on a public Wi-Fi network, your identity is protected from prying eyes.
Hotspot Shield
Is a free Virtual Private Network (VPN) proxy service that enables you to access blocked or censored websites, and protects your privacy and identity while connected to public Wi-Fi hotspots.
There are more than 1,000 servers located in 22 countries. Hotspot Shield also secures your web browsing session by providing HTTPS encryption.
The service can be used on your PC, smartphone, or tablet – simply download one of our FREE apps from App Store or Google Play Store, then connect to any of our servers. In just a few clicks you can protect your whole device with secure OpenVPN encryption protocols.
