The Honor GS Pro is a watch that screams sophistication at first glance. This Smartwatch could be considered as a complete package from its exterior to its internal functions. The functions of the watch are mainly geared towards providing a tool for activities like hiking, camping, or other adventurous outdoor experiences where one would require tools for navigation, health, and fitness tracking when in the wild. Before its release in September 2020, the Honor Watch GS Pro caused quite a stir up of anticipation projecting the specs of the watch.
One of these projections is a promise of 25 days of battery life which beats the record of the Honor Magic Watch 2 which goes for 15 days on a single full battery charge. All the projections are truly impressive but we would be reviewing them to know if the Honor Watch GS Pro lives up to its reputation.
- Design
The Honor Watch GS Pro has a tough, sophisticated exterior look, and it’s really bulky at a weight of 45g, definitely not for baby wrists. The Watch is said to have been tested in 14 types of MIL-STD-810G tests, including humidity resistance for 240hrs, Salt fog for 96hrs, a high temperature of 70°C and a low temperature of -40°C. Looking at these conditions, the usual outdoor experience won’t be so harsh, hence we may never get to experience how much the watch can take. Not only is the Honor Watch GS Pro bulky, but it is also very stylish for those who are fascinated by its type of design. It has different views from its health map and the watch body comes in Charcoal Black, Marl White, Camo Blue, and Camp Gray colors.
- GPS Satellite Tracking
This has to be one of the most important features of the Honor Watch GS Pro considering its purpose. The tracker works not only in an online mode but also offline and its accuracy is quite commendable. It also has the ability to help you navigate back to your initial location, hence keeping you from getting lost.
- Battery Capacity
The Honor Watch GS Pro uses a 790mAh Li-Ion battery which is projected to last for 25 days. This isn’t impossible although its hardly possible except there’s minimal activity on the watch. However, the mileage when it’s in heavy use is a max of 14 days. It is also projected to last for 40 hours when performance mode and GPS are on, and 100 hours on Power saving mode with GPS on. We would agree to an 80% accuracy to these projections based on data from research.
Other Features
The Honor Watch GS Pro has 100 work outmodes with different settings to match these modes. It also runs a Lite Os which isn’t so detailed when compared to other watches Os. It also has a compass, and a barometer among other measurement tools for the environment to keep you aware of the changes and possible dangers. It can accommodate up to 500 songs in its 8GB internal storage. Also, you can take calls directly from your honor GS Pro. However, it isn’t compatible with iOS but with some Android.
