Steam is a video gaming platform that gives the opportunity for game developers to sell their video games to gamers on the platform. Steam is popularly known for creating and providing mind absorbing video games and this has contributed to the success they’ve achieved so far. Steam is owned by Valve Corporation. It was initially launched by Valve corporation as an independent software client in 2003 and it’s currently translated in about 28 international languages.
Steam gives its users access to a large library of games, and by default, it displays on the user’s profile, the games they’ve played recently. Not everyone is comfortable with this setting since privacy is completely debunked. If you’re one of those people who would prefer to keep their game history private, then this guide would certainly be of help to you.
How To Permanently Hide Your Game History And Details
First, on the homepage of your Steam account, navigate to where you have your username at the top of the page and click on “Profile” amongst the list of items. If You Want To Temporarily Hide Your Gameplay
Apart from completely preventing your friends from being able to access information about the Steam games you download and play, you can temporarily prevent them from seeing what game you are currently playing. However, the information would still be accessible on your profile. To do this, after accessing your Steam account, navigate to the “Friends and Chat” tab, click on your username and then click on “Offline” to sign out of the friends and chat mode, or click on “Invisible” to appear offline.
Hide Games In Your Library
If you’re concerned that someone may get into your space, access your PC and the Steam games you’ve been playing or the games you have downloaded, you can easily keep them hidden so someone else wouldn’t have casual access to them. To do this, first select the game you want to hide and right-click it. Select “Set Categories” and then tick the box that reads “hide this game in my library”. You can also set categories to help you organize your games. Afterward, click on “OK”. This way your games would remain hidden until you choose to unhide them.
