Chromebook Web Store
The Chromebook Web Store is the official app store for Chromebook users to get apps to help them maximize the use of their Chromebook, it also allows users to publish their apps and games for other users to access. To get Microsoft Office apps on your Chromebook, you have to get the mobile versions of these apps through the Google Play Store. To do this, go to the Google Play Store (Through your Chrome Web Store) and type in the name of the Office app you want to install, into the search bar. Click on “Install”, when the installation is complete, click on your Chromebook launcher, then click on the app you just downloaded. You can proceed to sign in with your Microsoft office account. Remember this is a mobile version of the app, not the desktop version, hence it’s features would be limited.
Microsoft Office For Web
Your second option is to use the Microsoft Office from your Chrome web browser, the advantage of using Microsoft office this way is, your documents would always be saved in the cloud (OneDrive), hence help you save space on your Chromebook storage. To use Microsoft Office for web, go to Office.com and sign into your Microsoft office account. On the dashboard at the top of the screen, you can choose which office app you want to work with and start. When you’re done, you can always save and download your work. Also, note that the web version of Microsoft Office is limited in its features in comparison to the desktop version.
