Snapchat, the popular social media app, allows users to send pictures and videos that vanish after they’re viewed. Snapchat has recently introduced its new feature called location-sharing, which allows you to share your live location with your friends via Snapchat messages and Snapcodes. This article tells you how to share your live location on Snapchat. Follow the steps below and share your live location on Snapchat in minutes!
Enable My Friends Can See My Live Location
Snapchat users are responsible for making sure they have their settings in place before going live. If you want everyone on your friend’s list to be able to see where you are, enable My Friends Can See My Live Location.
In addition, if you want just one friend (or group of friends) who don’t follow each other to be able to see where you are when you go live, tap Only Selected Friends Can See Your Live Location. Once enabled, a blue border will appear around your profile picture whenever you go live.
Other Snapchat users can then send snaps or chat messages that indicate they want to check out what’s happening at your location during that time. The app will also notify them when someone goes live within a certain distance of their current location.
Enable My Story Can See My Live Location
First, head into your settings. To do so, tap and hold down on a blank area of a Snap to bring up options, then select Settings at the top right. If you’re using Android: Next, select Snapchatters from the list at the top left. Scroll down and toggle Can See My Live Location by swiping across it and selecting either On or Off. On means other people can view where you are; off means they can’t.
Play with Snap Map Filters & Drawing Tools
If you want people to see where you are, open Snapchat’s camera and select a Snap Map filter. The flower icon gives a general idea of where you are; if you draw around yourself with one finger, any friends who follow you will see your exact location.
If you have an artistic side and don’t mind sharing that information with everyone, use one of Snap Map’s drawing tools to create an abstract map for others to guess. You can use pinch-to-zoom gestures with two fingers if there are specific locations that interest you, but don’t forget about all of Snapchat’s other filters!
Use Geofilters To Make Your Snaps Stand Out!
Snapchat’s geofilters are an easy way to use branding and increase engagement. A snap with a relevant filter is much more likely to get seen by someone who can help you out, whether that means a potential investor or employee.
Plus, people love sharing snaps when they know their friends will be impressed. As a bonus, geofilters can make any event that much more memorable for your audience. When’s the last time you used a hashtag at an event? Geofilters make it easy! Are you hosting an important work meeting? Design a custom geo-filter and watch employees flood in with their snaps!
Incorporate Screenshots into Your Storytelling
An innovative way to use Snapchat is by showing people what’s going on in your life. When you take a photo or video and post it directly into a story, it becomes ephemeral after 24 hours. By adding screenshots of pictures or videos from other services like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, you can create a cool collage of media in one story that shows off who you are and what’s happening in your life.
If there are any certain posts from these services that you love, add them to your stories so people know why they should follow you! You can also use screen capture technology with other apps like Evernote and Dropbox as well.
