How to Know When Someone Read Your Message On Android
Below are the steps:
For Text Messages
Turn on your read recipients for your android texts. Here is how to do that;
- First, you open your Android’s Messaging app. Some Android devices do not come with a texting app that notifies you when someone has read your message, but you might be using the one that does.
- Then click on the menu icon. It usually looks like ⁝ or ≡ at the top on the right side of the screen.
- Click on Settings.
- You then click on Advanced. This option depends on your model, it is possible that you might not see this option. You might see “text messages” instead.
- Then you can turn on the option for “Read Recipients”.

Once you turn it on, you will well the recipient has read your messages.
For Facebook Messenger
- You will have to open your Facebook Messenger on your Android device. You will see it as the blue chat bubble icon having a white lightning bolt inside.
And Facebook Messenger already has a feature that allows its users to know when someone reads their messages.
- After you have opened it, click on the name of the person you want to message to open the conversation.
- Type in a message and click on the send icon to send.
- Look down on the small icon at the bottom on the right side of the message you just sent.
Now, if you see just one checkmark in a white circle, then it means that your message has been sent but not delivered. If the checkmark is double, then it means that your message has been delivered. Then when the checkmark turns blue, it means the person has read your message.
You can use this same method to find out when someone has read your message on WhatsApp. Just send a message, when it has only one tick then it means it has been sent. But when the tick is double, it then means that your message has been delivered but the person has not read it. If the tick turns blue, then it means that your message has been read.
