PayPal finally has an answer to solve the GoFundMe situation. With its Generosity Network, individuals can now launch campaigns with the GoFundMe. The company assures its users that is a fast and reliable way to do fundraising for an important crisis. Each fundraising drive has a maximum limit of $20,000 and is bound to last for a month. Now you add a $1 donation each time you shop online.
The company is allowing its users to donate the rewards they get from credit card, automatically converting them into a dollar figure. I feel GoFundMe is very important to citizens in need of medical supplies and funds which the insurance or hardship fund can’t cover. As we speak, fundraising is being held for cancer patients and disaster relief for Providencia.
PayPal VP Okta Dograsmaci says that the company has seen an “outpouring of generosity from the PayPal community […] during this unprecedented year.” Due to the coronavirus outbreak, millions of peoples lost their jobs and loved ones so they hope this would cover up for all that. With the Generosity Network, the funds are deposited straight into the organizer’s PayPal account, and they’re trusted to then distribute them onward.
