Immediately after Quibi was shut down, questions began to immerge on what could possibly happen to the show, some of which are quite interesting. According to reports from the Wall Street Journal, it’s possible that its content catalog may be sold to streaming app and hardware manufacturer, Roku.
We all know Roku for its popular devices that can stream services like Netflix or your own content libraries. Though it recently confirmed that it doesn’t produce or own any content and also has no plan to do so.
Even after launching with its quick bite services with high-profile stars like Liam Hemsworth, Kevin Hart, and Kristen Bell, the $4.99 per month service shut down after six months. Quibi was founded by former Disney chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg and headed by HP’s ex-CEO Meg Whitman and managed to raise $2 billion before the app launched. There is no word yet on a particular price and the deal could still fall through.
