Here are some of the reasons why your Snapchat is stuck on the loading screen:
- Poor internet connection
- Snapchat servers are down
- Your Snapchat app is outdated
- Your cache data is corrupted
- Data Saver mode is on
- Battery optimization is on
- There’s a bug
- Battery saver mode is turned on
If any of the above-mentioned cases is the reason why your Snapchat screen is not loading, what do you do? Before we start up with the various ways of getting the loading Snapchat screen fixed, it is very important to understand this. The success of any fix we are going to mention here, actually depends on the version of Snapchat as well the device it is installed in. However, the fixes we have put together for you can work irrespective of the environment. Be it on iOS, Android, or Windows.
Restart your device
This is one of the methods popularly used when something goes wrong with our devices. When you restart your device, it allows your mobile to reboot, which helps fix all the minor errors. Android users can switch off their phone or reboot it. iOS users on the other hand are to press and release the volume up and down key and press the power button once the screen goes black
Check the Internet Connection
Most times, users face difficulties loading Snapchat on their devices due to internet issues on their side. You can either face a bandwidth issue or a connectivity issue as a whole. As such you have to first ensure that you check your WiFi connection to gauge the signal strength. You also have to ensure you check the validity of your data plan also. If the validity of your data plan is edging towards expiry, it may affect your loading capacity.
If you find out that there’s no issue with the WiFi connection, there may be an issue with the Domain Name System. In this case, you may have to change your DNS in case your DNS is not stable. To do this:
- Scroll to your mobile settings which is available on the top right side of the screen.
- Click on the WiFi options under the Connection section
- Choose your WiFi and select the Advanced option
- Make the change from DHCP to Static beneath the IP Settings section.
- On DNS 1 and DNS 2, remove the last IP.
- Save the changes you’ve made.
Turn off the Data Saver
If your Snapchat screen is not loading, chances are that you have the Data Saver option enabled. The Data Saver option saves the amount of data you consume. With this, it tends to shut down the normal functioning of Snapchat to control the outflow or inflow of high volumes of data. If your device has Data Saver on, it could mean that the data usage is being restricted.
To resolve this issue, click on “Retry, Not Sending Message, and Unable to Send messages.
Clear the Snapchat Cache
The Cache is the small part of the memory in a CPU that copies every piece of information or data used by the application. After you download Snapchat from the App Store, the cache starts collecting all the data used by the app. When this happens, there can be errors in the app’s functioning when the cache is full. Fortunately, you can clear your cache in two ways:
Clear using the Android settings
- Scroll to Apps and Notifications
- Scroll through the See All Apps option and locate the Snapchat option on the list.
- Click on the Snapchat option
- Tap on Storage and Cache
- Click on Clear Cache to clear all the cached files.
Clear the cache using app settings
- Click open the Snapchat application
- Search for the Profile icon which is at the top left of the screen
- Choose Settings (gear icon) at the top right corner of the screen.
- Navigate down to the next page and search for the Clear Cache option present under the Accounts Action.
After you have performed the steps, close the application and re-launch it.
Update the Snapchat Application
You can easily find the updates of Snapchat on the App Store. An update can effectively fix any bug or issue that the present version may be causing with your device. Simply visit the App Store to download the current version of the Snapchat app.
Uninstall and Reinstall Snapchat Application
If none of the steps have worked for you so far, it may be time for you to uninstall and reinstall the application as an alternative to the options mentioned above. Understand that the uninstalled application will need an update or a reinstallation. Simply uninstall and reinstall the app. Then log in with the same credentials to check if the loading screen error on Snapchat has resolved itself.
Clear the conversation
In some cases, clearing the conversations on the app helps for the images and snaps to successfully load. Clearing conversations does not delete any data or messages in the app. Here are some steps to guide you:
- Click open Snapchat
- Click on Settings or the gear icon.
- Scroll to the “Clear Conversation” option under Privacy Section.
- Choose the cross mark close to the Snapchat connection in whose chat, you have faced the error loading Snapchat issue.
- Click on Clear.
Re-add your Snapchat Friends
Although considered to be an extreme step which should be considered when all else fails, removing and adding your friends can solve the issue. But understand that this method will erase all the previously received or sent snaps.
- Open Snapchat
- Scroll to your profile
- Choose a person under My Friends that you want to remove and re-add
- Search for the line with three dots
- Select Remove Friend.
- Alternatively, you can long-press the person you wish to re-add and then remove them.
Once you are done with these steps, the issue should be fixed.
Check for functioning Snapchat Servers
Snapchat servers can cause Snapchat “Tap to Load” glitch. As such, if you suspect the problem is on Snapchat’s side, you can check with the official website to learn more.
These fixing steps should help you resolve whatever issue it is you are having with your Snapchat loading screen.
