As it has always been, I guess what’s on most people’s minds is to stay up all night in front of a retail store just to get the PS5 the moment it is launched. All day-one PS5 sales will be available online only via Sony’s partners.
This method is actually better because some countries who got really hit by the coronavirus, are just getting to recover. It is also not advisable for a group of people to stand in line waiting to purchase the PS5. The move applies to all regions on the PS5’s launch day: November 12th or 19th, depending on where you are.
“Please don’t plan on camping out or lining up at your local retailer on launch day in hopes of finding a PS5 console for purchase,” Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Sid Shuman wrote in a blog post. “Be safe, stay home, and place your order online.”
If your pre-order was successful and intend to collect yours from a store, this change shouldn’t have any effect on your pick-up time. But just to be sure, you can check up with your retailer where you placed your pre-order if you want to be extra sure.
