Sony is well known for its detailed delivery of tech gadgets. Over the years they have continued to provide class without imitating what their competitors have done. The features of the Sony Xperia 5ii have come as a dazzle to many photography enthusiasts as well as Android lovers. This smartphone is one of the best for gaming and for photography when compared to its predecessors. Sony has made sure the Xperia 5ii is fortified such that there are very few things one can point out as flaws.
- Display
Sony stuck to its 21:9 aspect ratio which seems to be a foresight because recent smartphones are tending towards the same direction. It stuns with a 6.1 inch HD OLED screen which brings colors to life and makes your interactions with the device lively. The default 120Hz makes sure lag is eliminated, and if you prefer, you could adjust to 60Hz (Stamina mode) to extend the battery life. The gorilla glass on the top cover assures that your screen is safe when the phone is kept in a tight corner. Among these amazing features is a 240Hz motion blur reduction.
- Battery
The Sony Xperia 5ii comes with a 4000mAh battery which exceeds the preceding Xperia models, hence when compared to them, there’s been a huge upgrade. From a personal standpoint, I expected more for the battery considering the abilities of the phone. The Battery lasting for about 30 hours doesn’t seem excellent in my opinion, maybe my expectations are too high. However, what compensates is the ability of the Xperia 5ii to complete full charge from 0% in 90 minutes as maximum time using an 18W charger which comes with the phone. What’s even better is that the Xperia 5ii supports 21W rapid charging. Most people however have complained about the omission of wireless charging which a lot of people are now accustomed to, although this is a deliberate action by Sony as they have tackled any challenge that would otherwise arise from the wired charging. Although for those who already invested in Qi charging, this would be an uneasy adjustment.
- Storage
Sony left the smaller Android league a long time ago and Sony Xperia 5ii is a display of experience and superiority. The Xperia 5ii has an 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage which is expandable with an SD card, so you won’t find your device running out of storage space unnecessarily.
- Software
The Sony Xperia 5ii runs an Android 10 Os which falls backward to the latest Android 11. The Android 10 Os however is very satisfactory and gives the Xperia 5ii a standard interface.
- Hardware
The processor of this device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865(not 865 plus), Adreno 650, but it’s still a superior chipset. This translates to one of the smoothest experiences any device can give you at this time.
- Fingerprint
The fingerprint sensors are located by the side of the phone, this is the new trend for the position of fingerprint in the past year, so it’s no surprise the Xperia 5ii has also adopted the trend.
- Camera
The Camera of the Xperia 5ii is what gives it triumph over its counterparts. Its front camera is 8MP, with 3 cameras on the rear. 12MP, 16mm (Ultra-Wide), 12MP, 24mm, f/1.7, PDAF(wide) and 12MP, 70mm, PDAF, OIS Eye AF, 20fps(Telephoto). The Potential of the Xperia 5ii camera can only be fully explored by a professional and it’s a great tool for digital camera enthusiasts and the 4k video output at 120fps is also worth mentioning. Discussing the camera would take a whole article to review.
