Since 2019, Americans have had the choice of using Alexa voice control for podcasts on Spotify and this feature is not available anywhere else in the world. Now the company has decided to roll out this feature to other parts of the world. Spotify has enabled Alexa control for podcasts in 11 more countries including Spain, Mexico, Italy, Ireland, India, Germany, France, Brazil, Austria, Uk, and Canada.
Now you can tell any of your Alexa devices to play any show of your choice at any given time. All you need to do link your Spotify account to that device. If you listen in Brazil, Mexico, Germany, or the UK, you might also want to set Spotify as the default podcast service.
The streaming Spotify hasn’t hidden any plans to dominate all other podcasts, and smart speaker control is a very essential part of making that happen. At least Spotify users can now enjoy more from their services.
