How are the scholarships different from others?
The scholarships provide full funding for two years, including tuition fees and an allowance to cover living costs (currently £11,875 per year).
Applicants can choose a research-based or taught degree. The scholarships are awarded on academic merit, potential and leadership qualities.
All successful applicants will automatically be considered for a number of other University awards that may help to fund their studies.
These include: Sussex Excellence Awards, Sussex International Scholarships (SIS), and Hampshire International Scholarships (HIS).
Each scholarship has its own set of eligibility criteria but Academic excellence is typically at least 90% in A levels/IGCSEs with a minimum B in mathematics or mathematical literacy/functional skills qualification.
Who can apply for this scholarship?
Undergraduate students are eligible to apply for University of Sussex scholarships. Your nationality is not relevant but you must be over 18 years old and must not have previously studied in a higher education environment (university or otherwise).
You can also apply if you’re not studying on an undergraduate course, but your degree status should still be ‘undergraduate’.
Applicants who are studying on a Masters degree at undergraduate level will also be considered for certain awards.
We regret that no applications from postgraduate students will be considered for scholarships offered by our office.
When is it open for application?
