USA Basketball is recruiting an E-National Team, and it has invited 30 top NBA 2K players to be a part of its first foray esports on November 7th and 8th. The participants are required to compete for a spot on the mixed-gender seven-player national team, which will play for the US at the second FIBA Esports open. The team will be participating in the North and Central American Conference on December 19th and 20th.
It doesn’t just end there, a panel consisting of basketball coaches and managers, as well as an NBA 2K League community ambassador, will be available in the arenas to select after seeing the participants play. The organization is will be dividing the 30 players into six different teams for the tryouts matches and will have them play a round-robin type of tournament. This is a good idea because the players can be switched from one team to another, having them play against each other.
The national team will compete remotely in December on NBA 2021 using the Pro-Am mode. Then the final selection will be made up of five starters and two reserves. For those who are lovers of basketball, you can stream the conference live on FIBA’s YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook channels.
