The competition is now open to teenagers who are between the age of 16 – 19 years and are currently still in high school or secondary school. This is an opportunity for those whose education was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, if you fall under the age range then you don’t have to worry anymore.
The World Bank and Financial Times want to hear from those whom the COVID 19 pandemic affected the most as the global community works on identifying solutions and they are the young people. What the organization wants to hear from you is how your learning experience has been affected by COVID-19. What would make an impact on your learning experience?
This is the third joint global blog/essay writing competition of the World Bank and Financial Times and they are looking for your best innovative ideas, high-quality ideas, and solutions that will improve the outcome of education beyond the pandemic.
Requirement For The Global Blog Writing 2021 Competition
Candidates must currently be enrolled in high school or a version of secondary education.
Interested participants are required to be between the ages of 16 and 19 years.
Entries must be submitted in English.
A high-level panel comprising of senior officials at the World Bank, Financial Times, and select partners will be responsible for judging entries. The criteria for judging include:
- Solutions presented
- Originality
- Creativity
- Writing quality
Application Details
If you made the requirements listed above, you are to make submissions including:
- A strong blog or essay with a word limit of 500
- Name, age, school, email, and country the applicants live in
- Photos, videos, visualizations that help support the applicant’s story can be added.
